Barocco Foundation, in collaboration with Din l-Art Ħelwa, invites music lovers to another delightful lunchtime concert at the historic Our Lady of Victory Church in Valletta on Tuesday, 24 November at 12:30pm.

This week’s concert, entitled Douce France, promises a nostalgic journey through the timeless melodies and unforgettable songs of France. The well-known soprano Clare Ghigo will be accompanied by the talented accordionist Yuri Charyguine in a programme celebrating the music associated with some of France’s most beloved singers and chanson performers, including Tino Rossi, Édith Piaf, Charles Trenet and Yves Montand.

The programme features a wonderful selection of French classics, from the wistful J’attendrai and the charming C’est si bon to the evocative La mer and the much-loved Champs-Élysées. Audiences will also be treated to the passion and drama of Édith Piaf’s legendary songs, including Mon Dieu, Milord, La vie en rose and Non, je ne regrette rien, alongside other memorable favourites such as Amapola and Le Goulant de Pauvre Jean.

With Clare Ghigo’s expressive voice complemented by Yuri Charguine’s accordion artistry, Douce France promises an enchanting musical interlude filled with romance, nostalgia and the unmistakable charm of French song.
