Melodies from the Silver Screen

Barocco Foundation, in collaboration with Din l-Art Ħelwa, invites you to an enchanting lunchtime concert at the historic Our Lady of Victory Church in Valletta. This performance features the exceptional talents of violinist Odile Micallef and pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa, who will present an enchanting journey through some of the most beloved and evocative melodies from film and musical theatre.  This recital takes place on Tuesday 18 March 2025 at 12:30pm.

 Opening with the timeless beauty of Where Do I Begin from Love Story, the audience will be drawn into a world of romance and nostalgia. This sentiment continues with Moon River from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, a song that has captured hearts for generations with its charm.

The programme also features Lara’s Theme from” Doctor Zhivago”, a piece synonymous with sweeping emotion, followed by the lively Theme Song from “The Entertainer”, adding a touch of playful energy. The unmistakable sound of 007 will make its mark with both the classic James Bond Theme and the dramatic, sultry Skyfall, showcasing the iconic music that has defined the legendary spy.

The deeply moving Gabriel’s Oboe from “The Mission” takes us to the uplifting Theme Song from “Life is Beautiful”, the concert explores a range of emotions, capturing both sorrow and joy. The energy takes an exhilarating turn with I Will Follow Him from “Sister Act”, a gospel-infused number brimming with infectious enthusiasm.

This recital also embraces the magic of musical theatre with A Million Dreams from “The Greatest Showman”, a song filled with hope and aspiration. Finally, it closes on a celebratory note with the lively and charming That’s Amore from “Enchanted”, ensuring a joyful and memorable conclusion to this captivating musical experience.
