Glorious Baroque
Barocco Foundation in collaboration with Din l-Art Ħelwa presents a special lunchtime concert at the historic Our Lady of Victory church in Valletta, featuring talented soprano Maria Grazia Grech accompanied by Mro. Abraham d’Amato on the church’s 18th century pipe organ. This recital takes place on Tuesday 10 October 2023 at 12:30pm.
The intriguing programme includes a magnificent selection of Baroque songs and arias such as O del mio dolce ardor from ‘Paride ed Elena’ by C.W. Glück , Lascia, ch’io pianga from ‘Rinaldo’ and V’adoro pupille from ‘Cesare in Egitto’ by G.F. Handel. This recital proceeds with Domine Deus from ‘Gloria’ by A. Vivaldi followed by two solo performances on the organ by Mro. d’Amato. Maria Grazia will continue this enticing programme with H. Purcell’s Lord, What is Man from ‘Harmonia Sacra’, Er macht uns allen wohl getan…Aus liebe from ‘St. Matthew Passion’ and Quia respexit from ‘Magnificat’ by J.S. Bach. The concert will conclude with Care selve from ‘Atalanta’ by G.F. Handel.
After the concert, patrons are invited for free to the cellar of the church to watch a short audio visual show about the building, history and the restoration of this gem.
Glorious Baroque - Organ Recital with Soprano will be held at Our Lady of Victory church, Valletta on Tuesday 10 October 2023 at 12:30pm.
