International Pianist Phillip Dyson in Concert

 International, famous concert pianist Phillip Dyson will be performing at the lunchtime series at the Monastery of St Augustine on Tuesday the 27th of February at 12.pm.

Described as simply “brilliant”, with a “wonderfully dry, very British sense of humour”, Dyson will perform for the first time in Malta to fund raise for the restoration project of St. Augustine Monastery in Valletta.

Playing the piano with "delicate precision and flawless sensitivity" (Pacifica Tribune, California) around the whole world, Dyson can be counted as being one of Britain’s most sought after pianist.  He has often broadcasted on BBC and Classic FM, besides giving concerts in London in St Martin-in-the-Fields and Trafalgar Square and participating in various UK Festivals and theatres, he has also performed with the UK's finest symphony orchestras.

Moreover, he has often toured the USA and participated in various concerts and festivals, namely Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival, and he has performed in all the major Spanish cities.

A Professor of Piano at the London College of Music, he has released a number of CDs featuring the music of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy and Brahms.

Phillip Dyson’ rapport with audiences, brilliant technique and innate sensitivity constantly win him the highest of praise and has a great international reputation in Europe and America. 

The pianist will be performing a sparkling repertoire of classical piano music featuring Rachmaninov, Schubert, Chopin, Ravel, Debussy, Schumann and Liszt.

After the concert, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a free guided tour of the interesting chambers of the monastery which are adorned with beautiful and historical sacred ornaments.
