Vibrant Flute
The weekly lunchtime concerts at the Oratory of St. Francis in Republic Street, Valletta will continue on Tuesday, 13 January 2015 at 12:30pm. The regular performances will be presenting varied performers and musicians, who from week to week, will be presenting vibrant and stimulating classical music.
The concert will feature Mro. Silvio Zammit (flute) and Ramona Zammit Formosa (piano) will be giving a performance on Tuesday 4th November 2014 at 12.30pm at the Oratory. Mro. Silvio Zammit is a brilliant flautist with over 25 years of experience in flute performance and teaching. Together with his piano accompanist, Ramona Zammit Formosa, he will be performing an excellent repertoire of flute music.
The eclectic programme of the lunchtime concert to be held at the Oratory of St. Francis Church in Republic Street, Valletta, will include sparkling and melodious music by Albinoni, J.S.Bach, Llyod-Weber, Faure` and Goddard, amongst others.
The venue, the baroque Oratory, was originally the friars’ refectory. Over the years, it had been transformed into an oratory, hence it is beautifully adorned by magnificent baroque paintings, an elaborate gilded altarpiece and monks’ benches. The oratory is usually closed to the public and the lunchtime concerts are a wonderful way to visit and enjoy the beautiful chapel.
The events are fund raising events for the Franciscan Church, which is undergoing extensive structural restoration.
